Principal's Message

I can’t believe that we are at the end of week three and this is our first official newsletter! With a run of short weeks, it feels good to be back into the term properly.

News on all the people!

We would like to extand a huge contratulations to both Lauran and Pierra who each welcomed beautiful little girls into the world in recent weeks.

Pierra’s family grew with the addition of Frankie on the 23/04/2025 and Lauren’s with the addition of Sofia on 03/05/2025. We wish alll of their families much love and happiness (and hopefully plenty of sleep!).

This Term we also welcomed Anna Montgomery to our office staff. Anna is our Office Manager and will be with us from Monday – Thursday every week.

Today we are also saying good bye to Sam who has been teaching PE here at Kingsville this year. Sam is moving to be closer to home and we wish him every success at his new school. For this term we welcome Lillie into the PE position while we advertise for a more permanent replacement. Lillie has been working at Kingsville for much of this school year and we are thrilled that she is able to be with us more permanantly.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Emma

How Your Colour Run Contribution is Powering Our STEM Future!

Thanks to the incredible support from our community during the Colour Run, we’ve been able to make some amazing additions to our STEM program! Our students are now equipped with a range of engaging, hands-on tools that spark curiosity, foster problem-solving, and encourage creative thinking. From robotics and coding with Sphero indi and Kitronik Arcade, to digital modelling with Makers Empire, these resources are helping bring the world of STEM to life across every year level.

We’re especially excited to have added two brand new 3D printers, along with plenty of filament to keep up with our students’ design ideas. Our classrooms are now also stocked with Bricktastics LEGO sets, a custom Creativity Wall, and an exciting collection of Makedo tools – perfect for building, designing and inventing with cardboard! Add in a suite of practical accessories to support our digital makerspace, and it's clear: our STEM learning environment is buzzing with creativity and innovation. Thank you for making this possible!

Real Schools

Building a Restorative School Community – parent session: Thursday, 5 June 2025 6:30 PM-7:15 PM

As part of our Real School partnership our expert facilitator Daniel Vella is providing another parent /carer webinar, presenting this time on Building a Resilient Child”

This is a meaningful opportunity to hear Daniel present on a concept to support what the school is striving to achieve: to elevate our school culture through a restorative mindset that is built through language and conduct that creates thriving relationships between community members.

Please mark this date in your calendar. A  Compass post near to the date will be a reminder of this event and the link to the Teams Meeting space

Ambulance Victoria GoodSAM Program

GoodSAM is a smartphone app that links patients in cardiac arrest with nearby community members and life-saving public defibrillators following a Triple Zero (000) call. The technology aims to provide rapid assistance to patients in the critical minutes before emergency services arrive. As we know, these minutes are crucial to better patient survival rates.

GoodSAM Responders or 'Smartphone Activated Medics' (SAM) have the app downloaded on their phone. When a cardiac arrest emergency call is made to Triple Zero (000), the GoodSAM app alerts the closest three responders to the incident.  Responders are given the location of the patient and the closest accessible AED (if available), and asked to attend to provide immediate CPR and defibrillate the patient if necessary.

Anyone can save a life, and the more GoodSAM Responders that are able to provide lifesaving care whilst paramedics are on the way the better our survival rates of out of hospital cardiac arrest will be.

Missing Scooter

Jack in 6EW discovered that over the long weekend his scooter went missing from the front bike/scooter bay. The photo below shows the scooter that Jack is hoping is returned to him. If you have seen the scooter in the neighbourhood, could you please let Jack in 6EW know or you could contact the front office and have the information passed on. Jack would be grateful of any assistance in finding his scooter.

It is regretful to inform the school community of items been stolen from the school grounds after hours. However, it is a timely reminder of the risk of leaving personal items at school overnight or over the weekend. While the gates are locked by 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and stay locked on weekends, items left behind remain visible and vulnerable opportunistic visitors in the school grounds.

We ask all families to ensure bikes, scooters, and helmets are taken home each day—especially on Fridays. We fully support and encourage students riding to school, as it's a healthy and environmentally friendly option. Encourage your child to secure their bike with a lock during school hours, and please reinforce the importance of not leaving these items behind. By staying vigilant, we can reduce theft and continue supporting students who choose active transport to school.
