Principal's Message

As we approach the end of the school year, our team begins one of the most important parts of school planning — creating classes for the year ahead. This process is thoughtful, collaborative and guided by our commitment to ensuring every child is placed where they will thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

Class creation is not a simple numbers game — it’s a careful balance of many factors. Teachers spend time reflecting on each student’s learning progress, friendships, working relationships and individual needs. They then provide detailed input into the mix of each class. Leadership staff review this alongside considerations such as gender balance, academic diversity, social dynamics, additional learning needs and overall class size.

Our goal is always the same: to create cohesive, balanced, and dynamic learning groups where every student can feel connected, challenged and supported. While no structure can meet every individual preference, families can be assured that every decision is made with professionalism, care and the best interests of all students at the centre.

To support a smooth transition into 2026, we will begin a series of transition activities over the coming weeks. These experiences will help students get to know new peers, explore upcoming learning opportunities and build confidence for the year ahead. The transition period will culminate in our whole-school Step Up Day on Tuesday, December 9, where students will spend time with their 2026 class and teacher.

We thank families for their continued trust and support as we plan for another exciting and successful year of learning at Kingsville Primary School.
