As we reach our last newsletter for 2025, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our entire school community for making my first full year as Principal such a rewarding, meaningful and memorable one. It has been a privilege to lead this wonderful school, and I am deeply grateful for the warmth, trust and support I have felt from students, staff and families throughout the year.
This year has been filled with growth, collaboration and countless moments that reflect the strength of our community. I am grateful for:
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, let’s enjoy all the wonderful things that come with this special time—celebrations, milestones, reflections and opportunities to come together as a community to finish the year with joy and connection.
I would also like to offer a heartfelt congratulations to our Year 6 graduates. They have shown leadership, maturity and remarkable growth throughout their journey at our school. We are incredibly proud of each one of them and wish them all the very best as they begin their high school adventure. We know they will continue to shine, contribute and achieve wonderful things.
As we look ahead to 2026, I am filled with excitement and optimism. We have wonderful programs planned, strong foundations in place and a shared commitment to continuous improvement. Most importantly, we have a community that works together with heart, purpose and pride. I am confident that 2026 will be a year filled with opportunities, growth and continued success for all.
Thank you once again for making this year such a positive and inspiring journey. I wish every family a safe, restful and joyful break and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for another fantastic year ahead.
We would like to let families know that Step Up Day 2026 will be happening a little differently this year. To better support student wellbeing and help everyone feel prepared, all students will be bringing home their class lists, teacher allocation and classroom location today, ahead of the Step-Up session tomorrow from 11:30 – 1:30.
By sharing this information early, we aim to reduce surprises, support smoother transitions and front-load students for the upcoming changes. We know that clarity and preparation help students feel more confident, settled and ready for a positive start to the year.
A reminder that staff have spent a significant part of this term thoughtfully creating these class lists. Many factors are considered, including academic needs, social relationships, wellbeing and balance across each class. For this reason, changes to class placements will not be made.
We appreciate your support as we work together to ensure Step Up Day is a calm, successful, and exciting experience for all students.
As we come to the end of another wonderful school year, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Friends of KPS (FOKPS) for their extraordinary dedication, enthusiasm and hard work. Their commitment to supporting our school community has made a remarkable impact on students, staff and families alike.
Throughout the year, FOKPS coordinated a wide range of fundraising and community events that brought joy to our school while raising funds for important projects. Highlights from 2025 include:
Because of this amazing effort, FOKPS enabled our school to fund several much-needed resources, programs and improvements, including:
These contributions don’t just enhance our facilities—they enrich the learning experience, bring our community together and create lasting memories for our students.
On behalf of the entire school community, THANK YOU FOKPS, for everything you have done this year. Your generosity, organisation and tireless volunteer efforts make our school a better place every single day.
We are incredibly grateful for your support.

Our school values the learning and development of our staff and the positive impacts this has on student outcomes and school improvement.
We are proud to share that Carla Rosi recently successfully completed the Inspire program at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership.
This program equips educators with the confidence and skills to build leadership capabilities that make a difference in their schools and networks.
Some of the key skills that Carla is bringing back to our school and classrooms include:
We look forward to working with Carla to implement the knowledge and skills from the program to continue to support student outcomes and wellbeing.
We are excited to announce that Kingsville Primary School will be holding its annual Play Day on Monday 15th December. Inspired by the philosophy of Global School Play Day, this event celebrates the importance of play in children’s development.
Play builds social, emotional and physical skills, encourages creativity, and helps children solve problems, develop resilience and experience joy.
From 9.30am–1.30pm, students will enjoy sustained opportunities for unstructured, screen-free play both indoors and outdoors. Teachers will supervise for safety, but students will lead their own play, using a range of stations and open-ended resources. Some periods of boredom may occur—and that’s okay! Boredom often sparks imagination and creative thinking.
In the lead-up to Play Day, teachers will prepare students by discussing Sunsmart routines, safe play expectations, ways to join in games, and how to show empathy and include others.
Parents can support by talking positively about the day, helping children be Sunsmart, and encouraging strategies for joining in play (such as watching first, joining in gently, and moving on if a game is full).
Through this special event, students will also strengthen key learning areas such as
Health and Physical Education and Personal and Social Capability, making Play Day not just fun, but a powerful learning opportunity.
We look forward to making this a sustained annual day, where children can interact with the world around them by using their creativity and developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strengths through unstructured play.

We will have our end of year assembly at 1:00pm on the last day of term. At this assembly we will draw our Christmas Raffle and say farewell to our Class of 2025.
On December 3rd, Kingsville Primary School proudly hosted the inaugural Kingsville Cup Minecraft Capture the Flag eSports Tournament—a groundbreaking primary-school event that brought together one hundred and fifty students from six local schools for a day of teamwork, strategy, and spirited competition.
From the moment teams logged into their worlds, the excitement was unmistakable. Students demonstrated outstanding collaboration as they designed defences, planned coordinated attacks, and adapted their strategies in real time. Across every match, players showcased impressive problem-solving skills—whether navigating tricky gameplay moments, negotiating team roles, or responding calmly to the occasional technical hiccup. In true community spirit, students supported one another, shared quick fixes, and kept the focus firmly on fair play and respect.
What made the day truly special was the sense of partnership between all participating schools. Staff, students, and volunteers worked side-by-side to ensure matches ran smoothly and on schedule, creating an atmosphere where every team felt valued and included. The cheers, high-fives, and moments of encouragement between schools highlighted exactly what eSports in education can achieve: confidence, connection, creativity, and collective success.
The Kingsville Cup was not only a competitive triumph but a celebration of young people working together with positivity and purpose. We look forward to building on this energy as the tournament grows in future years.
