A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to share feedback through our Stop, Start, Continue protocol last week. We were so grateful for the thoughtful suggestions, kind words and great ideas that came through. It really is one of the best ways for us to understand what is working well and where we can continue to improve.
One piece of feedback that really resonated with Gabe and I was around communicating school events earlier so families have plenty of time to plan. As luck would have it, I happened to have one of those wonderful "gate meetings" this morning with a Prep dad (you know who you are!) who suggested making better use of the Compass Calendar. Such a simple idea—and such a good one!
So, we got straight onto it. As of this morning, all of the events we currently know about for this term have been added to the Compass Calendar, and I'll be adding the remainder of the year's events as soon as possible. So all you need to do is click on the calendar. We hope this gives everyone a clearer picture of what's coming up and makes family planning just that little bit easier.
Of course, we'll still include reminders in our weekly newsletter, but the Compass Calendar will now become our "one-stop shop" for upcoming events, celebrations and all the fun happening at KPS.
Thank you again for your feedback and for continuing to share your ideas with us. We genuinely appreciate suggestions that help make school life easier, smoother and even more enjoyable for our whole community. Keep them coming!
At Kingsville Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that our policies reflect current research and best practice, while supporting the wellbeing and learning of every child.
We are currently reviewing our Homework Policy to ensure it aligns with the latest educational research, particularly around the benefits of balanced lives for children. Research continues to highlight the importance of children having time for play, family, physical activity, reading, rest and pursuing their own interests, alongside their learning at school.
A draft of the revised Homework Policy has been shared with our community, and we would greatly appreciate your feedback. As always, your perspectives help us make informed decisions that reflect the values and needs of our school community. Click on the link to view - Homework Policy Draft

Thank you for partnering with us to ensure our approach to homework supports both high-quality learning and the wellbeing of our students.
Book Week is just around the corner, and we can't wait to celebrate with our annual Book Week Costume Parade on Wednesday 26 August!
This year's Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) theme is Symphony of Stories—a wonderful celebration of the many voices, characters and adventures that books bring to life.
Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character. Whether your costume is homemade, borrowed, simple or spectacular, we'd love to see everyone join in the fun! The most important thing is celebrating the joy of reading and sharing the stories we love.
We can't wait to see KPS transformed into a wonderful Symphony of Stories!
